BP West Nile Delta Project:

BP Working Interest: North Alexandria – 60%, West Mediterranean Deep Water – 80%
West Nile Delta (WND) project is located in the North Alexandria (BP Operated 60%, RWE Dea 40%) and the West Mediterranean Deep Water (BP Operated 80%, RWE Dea 20%) concessions offshore Egypt.
Since 2001, BP has made significant progress in understanding the resource base in Egypt’s West Nile Delta with the successful exploration and appraisal of eight Pliocene discoveries (Giza, Fayoum, Taurus, Libra, Ruby, Maadi, Viper, Polaris) and two Miocene discoveries (Raven, Taurus Deep) and one Oligocene discovery Hodoa (recently discovered 4Q 2010). The WND project is the first development phase in these concessions and will focus on the primary five fields (Giza, Fayoum, Raven, Taurus and Libra).
This increased knowledge of the resource base, both in terms of resource progression as well as reservoir deliverability and fluid characterization, has informed a robust process of evaluating multiple potential development scenarios during the Appraise and Select stages, with formal Concept Selection work finalized late in 2009. The selected development case for the first phase of development involves 24 subsea wells tied back to shore by three export trunk lines to a new onshore processing facility.
